Celebrating hostas since 1982!
The Delaware Valley Hosta Society is pleased to showcase some of the best hosta gardens in the country. DVHS members get to visit during our spring and summer meetings, but you can always contact a member to arrange a personal, private visit.

WynEden
Chadds Ford, PA
WynEden is the garden of Wayne Guymon. It was a highlight of the 2006 American Hosta Society national con-vention, hosted by DVHS. It has also been featured in Martha Stewart Living magazine.
This garden has a hillside planting of thousands of hostas laid out in large bands of color leading down to two large ponds. Additional beds with multiples of specimen hostas continue this theme in sweeps of blue, gold and green interspersed with over 2000 different perennials and many hundreds of native azaleas and rhododendron hybrids. DVHS visited in August, 2019.

MillFleurs
Bucks County, PA
Situated around a 1742 gristmill on the Tohickon Creek, the gardens surrounding MillFleurs are built on a very dramatic site which slopes steeply down to the stream’s edge. Although this garden contains the largest collection of hostas in the Philadelphia area (nearly 2,000 different species and cultivars), the beds themselves are woven across rocky slopes with exceptional artistry and include many collections of rare and unusual woodland perennials.
The property also features the outdoor furniture designs of its owners, Barbara and Tiff Tiffany.
DVHS will visit MillFleurs in 2020.

Teagate Garden
Garnet Valley, PA
Compared to the expansive gardens above, Teagate is relatively small: a 2-acre property, much of which is natural woodland and meadow. Over 350 hosta cultivars are displayed on berms and in raised beds, as well as in a collection of "trough" planters containing miniature and very small hostas. Sunloving perennials, two wetland gardens, and a bog round out the plantings.

Tallwood
West Chester, PA
Betty and Michael Drummond’s Garden is sequestered on sixteen acres of wet woodland. Tallwood combines both lush, natural forested areas with sensitively planted estate lawns and garden beds. Noted here is the DVHS “Heritage Walk”— a garden designed to honor and to tell the stories of the many people in our area who have contributed to the amazing variety of hostas.

Boulder Haven
Berwyn, PA
Carol Verhake, of Lasting Landscapes by Carol, began developing her own garden over 20 years ago. Today’s garden includes multiple island beds, a woodland trail, a water feature and two sitting areas. A covered patio offers a great view in the afternoon sun or when it rains. An irregular flagstone patio provides an ideal perch for enjoying the water feature and birds that bathe in it. Boulders placed by Mother Nature serve as garden sculptures.A garden bench, made from ash trees removed due to ash borer, became a unique feature. Carol’s inspiration for plant choice came from her parents’ love of gardening.
